5 Foods for Healthy
Hair
Hair
loss affects both men and women. While genetics plays a role, there are other
factors, including hormonal imbalances, an under-active thyroid gland, nutrient
deficiencies and insufficient scalp circulation. In additional, there are many
foods that offer vitamins and minerals that support healthy hair.
1 Broccoli
Broccoli can provide you with some special cholesterol-lowering benefits
if you will cook it by steaming. Broccoli has a strong, positive impact
on our body's detoxification system, and researchers have recently identified
one of the key reasons for this detox benefit. Broccoli may help us solve our
vitamin D deficiency epidemic. When large supplemental doses of vitamin D are
needed to offset deficiency, ample supplies of vitamin K and vitamin A help
keep our vitamin D metabolism in balance.

promoting hair growth and prevent premature graying of hair.
3 Lettuce
Green
vegetables or greens in short are gaining popularity with the growing health
consciousness and importance of taking a balanced diet. Lettuce is an important
member of the family of greens and probably one of the oldest vegetables known
to the mankind.
Indigenously, it is found in the
Mediterranean and the Middle East. In India, it is commonly known as ‘salad
patta’ in Hindi. As its name suggests, it is most widely used in salads all
over the world and finds its place among the list of nutritious foods. Apart
from salads, it is also used in soups, sandwiches and wraps. It is also used
for the purpose of juicing.
4 Spinach
Take 1 cup of spinach leaves mix it with 1
tbsp of honey and oil (you can use olive oil, coconut oil or castor oil). Blend
this mixture in a blender, make sure the paste is neither too thick not too
runny. The consistency should be appropriate so that application becomes easy
and rinsing it off is also easy. Once the mixture is ready, apply it on scalp
and hair. Keep this mixture for half-an-hour to one hour and then wash off with
regular shampoo.
You can use this hair pack every
week. I know it is a little messy but the results are amazing. It will
stimulate hair growth and will also reduce hair fall to a great extent. It will
also repair your damaged hair and will give you smooth, silky and
healthy-looking hair.
Grind half cup spinach whether boiled or raw and separate the pulp. Mix
this spinach pulp with your regular oil, I’ll recommend you to use olive oil as
it is good for hair growth. Apply this mixture on hair for about one hour and
then rinse off with regular shampoo and conditioner. This mixture will
stimulate hair growth and this pack will also nourish your hair deeply. If you
have dry or frizzy hair then this mixture will work like a charm on your hair.
5 Omega
Omega-3
fatty acids are important fats our body cannot make itself, and therefore must
be obtained through our diet. Omega-3s are found in the cells that line the
scalp and also provide the oils that keep your scalp and hair hydrated. Look
out for oily fish such as salmon, herring, sardines, trout and mackerel and
plant sources including avocado, pumpkin seeds and walnuts.
